Let's hope the term is better than this. (open)

"Ugh! I hate this trunk!" Betta exclaimed, attempting to lug her trunk onto the train. "I've never had so much trouble trying to put this stupid thing on board! If this is the way that 5th year's going to start, I think I'd rather go home now!"

After another moment (and a couple of curses) later, Betta managed to get all of her belongings onto the train and into the nearest empty compartment. Her owl, Morgana, hooted just then; the hoot sounded very much like a laugh. Betta glared at the animal. "I don't want to hear it, Morgana."

Another hoot--this time it sounded like a twitter of amusement instead of an all-out hoot of amusement. Out of breath, Betta finally flopped down onto the seat and looked out of the window, hoping against hope that this term wouldn't be as bad as getting onto the train was.

Violet walked passed the compartments, doing her Prefect duties. She wasnt doing a very good job, she wasnt paying attention to much of anything.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when she heard someone shouting, and struggling with their trunk. Violet timidly knocked on the glass, and slid the door open. "Exuse me." Violet asked the girl in front of her. "Need help?" Violet attempted to be eager to help, but she knew she sounded dull and bored.

Betta turned to see a girl standing in the doorway. She smiled in relief. "Could you help? I've this stupid trunk that doesn't want to--oh shush, Morgana." she grumbled, as her owl let out another hoot. "If you could hang my owl up and put a drape over it so she'll go to sleep, I'd appreciate it. By the way, my name's Elisabetta, but you can call me Betta. Everyone else does."

Betta finally managed to get one of her smaller pieces of luggage in the compartment over the seat. "I think I packed way too much. You'd think I'd have learned after five years of being at Hogwarts, but no. No, I have to go pack about five pairs of shoes or so, on top of everything else."

"Sure thing." Violet took the girls owl, and hung the cage up by the window. She put a curtain over the owl, and it finally stopped hooting.

"Betta it is then." Violet smiled at the girl. "Im Violet."

"Your a fifth year?" Violet asked, shocked. She had never seen the girl around Hogwarts. "What house?"

"I'm in Slytherin." Betta replied. "I think I've seen you around the common room a few times, Violet. I've just been ridiculously busy lately, I haven't really talked to my mum and dad, much less anyone in the dorms. Have you been studying for the O.W.L.S. yet?" queried Betta, feeding Morgana half of an Every Flavor Bean. "I've just about killed myself over the summer. My parents want me to get a job in the Ministry, which is why they hounded me to study over the vacation." She chuckled. "I really don't want to work in the Ministry. Try convincing Dad, that, though. He's an Unspeakable; he wants me to follow in his footsteps."

Violet choked back a laugh. "No, I dont think youve seen me around the common room." She shook her head slightly. "Im in Hufflepuff." She said sincerly.

"Ive studied a little, but I practicially memorize anything Ive ever read." She laughed. "So, I dont think I need to study a whole lot." She felt her face flush, clearly embarassed to be talking about school.

"Where do you want to work then?" Violet asked her, confused. "Id like to be a healer." She added as an after thought.
