Rowan Coburn

Rowan was born on November 18th to a long pureblood line located (at the time) in New Zealand. When she was 9, her little brother, Ethan, was born and her family was as big as it was ever going to get. She lived mostly in luxury because of her father's big business that attracted many customers from around the globe. She was quite famous among the surrounding areas. She had already gone to a witch's academy for a number of years. She was a prodigy among the magical community.
Her mother fell fatally ill when she was 13, and she died within a month of symptoms. Healers hadn't been able to diagnose her in time, and the family wanted to move on rather than dwell on the mystery illness. Rowan and Ethan's father was so stricken with grief that he cut off all connection with the outside world.
A year later, when she was away with her private professors in what would be her next to last year of her main magical education, her father and little brother were murdered and it remains a mystery who did it. Because of the loss of her family, Rowan became an introverted, pessimistic person. She got involved with the Dark Arts and with alcohol and such, seeing as how she had no more living relatives.
She zeroed in on her studies and dreams to become a Healer, and at age 15, she began an internship, then a college scholarship with the MMA (Merlin's Medical Academy) in South Australia as the youngest person to ever attend this world renowned medicinal magic academy. Four years later of intensive study, she completed her studies and was dubbed an official Healer.
Rowan moved to England a few months before starting her most recent job at Hogwarts School as a Professor and a Healer. She's still very young, so she saw it as a perfect opportunity to get more experience doing what she loves.
