Family History:

Andrew has had his whole life mapped out to him by his parents, and he is sick of it. His parents have controlled his sisters and his thoughts from a very young age, teaching them that the values of friends is too be judged by their social status, not the type of people they are. this is what they all believed in, until his sister went to Hogwarts and graduated. She married a muggleborn, and this went against her parents wishes, who wanted to get her married to a pureblood. Disowned, she still keeps in touch with Andrew, telling him to live his life the way he wants, and not to listen to all the crap their parents say, which he has already followed up on, getting sorted into Gryffindor as opposed to Slytherin.

He met Alex at the 'Leaky Cauldron' and everyday wishes he hadn't, as he cannot stand her, and the thought of her going to Hogwarts too, can even sour the taste of freedom he longs for.
